A late-night assault by suspected herdsmen has left a Tiv community in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State in mourning after the village head of Tse Yange was killed and multiple residents abducted.
The attack occurred Sunday night, as armed assailants on motorbikes stormed the agrarian settlement of Tse Yange, unleashing chaos and violence that lasted into the early hours of Monday.
Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen arrived suddenly and began shooting, forcing residents to flee. Homes were abandoned, and panic spread throughout the area.
A local source told DAILY POST that while the village head was confirmed dead, the total number of abducted and injured persons had not yet been determined as of the time of reporting.
Several villagers were said to have sustained injuries during the assault, and many are now displaced from their homes.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
