Nasarawa Group Demands Justice for Slain Kano DPO |
The Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) has condemned the brutal killing of CSP Baba Ali Mohammed, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rano Local Government Area in Kano State, and has called for swift justice.
CSP Mohammed, a native of Nasarawa State and a member of the Eggon ethnic group, was reportedly attacked by a mob of youths in Rano. He later died from his injuries in a hospital in Kano.
In a statement issued on Friday from Lafia, the ECDA National President, Mandy Abuluya, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and urged the Nigeria Police Force to launch a thorough investigation to uncover the full details and bring the culprits to justice.
“The association demands an immediate and exhaustive investigation to apprehend those responsible and ensure justice is served,” the statement read. “The gruesome murder of CSP Mohammed cannot go unanswered.”
Abuluya extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the Aren Eggon, the government of Nasarawa State, the Inspector General of Police, and the entire Nigeria Police Force, as well as the Eggon community at large.
He stressed that protecting law enforcement officers is a basic obligation of the government, and he called for adequate compensation for CSP Mohammed’s family, including full educational sponsorship for his children up to university level.
“This would not only honor his service and sacrifice but also reassure other security personnel that their efforts are appreciated and supported,” Abuluya added.
