The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dealt a major blow to ISWAP terrorists with successful airstrikes on their enclaves in Talala and Ajigin — areas within the infamous Timbuktu Triangle of Borno State.

The strikes, carried out on May 7, 2025, around 5:30 p.m., were part of Operation KALACHEN WUTA II, under the ongoing campaign by Operation Hadin Kai.

According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, intelligence reports showed that terrorists were regrouping and stockpiling logistics for planned attacks. In response, the Air Component launched precision-guided strikes, killing dozens of terrorists and destroying weapons, makeshift shelters, and mobility platforms.

Post-strike monitoring revealed confusion and disarray among the insurgents, significantly disrupting their tactical plans.

Security forces say this operation sends a strong message:

“Wherever terrorists try to hide, we will find and strike with precision.”
