According to NEMA's Director-General, Zubaida Umar, the donation was part of KSrelief's mission to provide humanitarian aid beyond Saudi Arabia's borders. In a heartwarming display of international humanitarian aid, the Saudi Arabian King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has donated a substantial quantity of food items to support vulnerable individuals in Nigeria. Through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), 33,636 people across four states - Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, and Borno - have received essential food supplies, bringing hope and sustenance to those in need.


According to NEMA's Director-General, Zubaida Umar, the donation was part of KSrelief's mission to provide humanitarian aid beyond Saudi Arabia's borders. The food items, distributed in baskets containing rice, beans, flour, oil, tomato paste, seasoning cubes, and salt, were allocated to 5,606 households, with each state receiving a significant share. Kano received 2,056 baskets, while Jigawa and Katsina received 1,750 each. Additionally, 50 food baskets were given to vulnerable individuals in camps and host communities in Maiduguri, Borno, through an NGO.


NEMA and the State Emergency Management Agencies (SEMA) worked together to identify and enumerate the beneficiaries, ensuring a fair and transparent distribution process. The Director-General commended NEMA staff for their dedication to ensuring the successful implementation of the project.


This generous donation from the Saudi King's humanitarian organization has brought relief to thousands of people, demonstrating the power of international cooperation and compassion in addressing humanitarian needs.
