Kebbi Governor Vows to Take Decisive Action Against Informants Aiding Bandits

Governor Idris condemned the actions of informants, stating that they defy all norms and religious doctrines. He emphasized that his administration will not condone or show leniency to such individuals, and will instead take swift and decisive action.
In a bold move, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has declared that he will sign the death warrants of anyone caught providing information to bandits, leading to the loss of innocent lives. This stern warning was issued during a sympathy visit to the people of Tudun Bichi in Wasagu Chiefdom, who have been repeatedly attacked by bandits.
Governor Idris condemned the actions of informants, stating that they defy all norms and religious doctrines. He emphasized that his administration will not condone or show leniency to such individuals, and will instead take swift and decisive action.
The governor assured the community that his administration will continue to support security agencies with logistics, welfare, and material requirements for combat readiness and operational success. He also accepted the request for the rehabilitation of the three-kilometer road linking the village to Wasagu, which has become impassable due to a collapsed bridge.
The village head, Muhammad Mika'ilu, thanked the governor for his visit and appealed for the deployment of security operatives with necessary equipment to deal with the bandits, enabling the community to return to normal farming activities. He also requested the rehabilitation of the major outlet linking the village to Wasagu.
An elder, Sani Manomi, reported that bandits have killed 86 people from the town in various attacks, including seven villagers who were murdered in cold blood on Thursday. Governor Idris's vow to take decisive action against informants is a welcome move towards ending the reign of terror in the state.
