In a brutal attack, suspected assassins killed the 30-year-old village head of Marke, Malam Kabiru Mohammed, in Dandamisa Ward, Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident occurred on Thursday at 12:30 am when the gunmen stormed the village head's residence, forcing him to hide in the ceiling with his elder brother, Tukur Mohammed.
Despite their efforts to escape, the gunmen discovered the village head and slaughtered him, setting the house ablaze. The councilor of Dandamisa Ward, Aminu Sani Marke, confirmed the incident, stating that the body could not be recovered due to the extensive damage caused by the fire. The gunmen reportedly spent about an hour in the village, stealing valuables worth millions of naira.
The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to comment on the incident, as the Police Public Relations Officer did not respond to calls or messages. This senseless act of violence has left the community in shock, and residents are calling for increased security measures to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
