According to the Vice-Chancellor, this year’s graduating set achieved impressive academic records across various categories:
- 185 students earned First-Class Honours
- 662 students achieved Second-Class Upper
- 410 students graduated with Second-Class Lower
- 79 students obtained Third-Class Degrees
- 5 students completed with Pass Degrees
The overall best graduating student, Joel Durigbo, from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, achieved an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0, making him a symbol of academic distinction.
Postgraduate Achievements
Beyond undergraduate success, the institution also recorded notable postgraduate accomplishments. Prof. Akindele revealed that 338 postgraduate students will be conferred with various advanced degrees and diplomas during the ceremony scheduled for October 10.
The breakdown includes:
- 109 students receiving Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD)
- 65 graduates with Master of Arts (MA) degrees
- 120 graduates earning Master of Science (MSc) degrees
- 25 graduates awarded Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees
- 19 scholars conferred with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees

“This is a remarkable feat, especially considering that there are currently 168 private universities in the country,” Prof. Akindele stated.
