Kano Police Pledge Maximum Security for Upcoming Bye-Elections
The Kano State Police Command has assured residents of Bagwai/Shanono and Ghari/Tsanyawa Local Government Areas of adequate security during the upcoming bye-election scheduled for Saturday. According to the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to guarantee a safe, peaceful, and transparent electoral process.
In an exclusive telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Bakori emphasized that security agencies across the state are working collaboratively to ensure a crisis-free election.
Robust Security Strategy in Place
Bakori explained that clear operational orders had been issued to all officers deployed for election duty. Each polling unit will have trained security personnel assigned to safeguard voters, election officials, and sensitive materials.

Bakori added:
“We will maintain a visible presence at polling units to safeguard voters’ rights and prevent intimidation. We will not tolerate thuggery, violence, or any form of misconduct before, during, or after the election.”
He further stressed that a level playing ground would be provided for all political parties, and any attempt to disrupt the peace would be met with swift legal action.

The Commissioner urged political parties, candidates, and their supporters to uphold democratic values and conduct themselves in a manner that promotes peace. Any act capable of causing confusion or unrest will not be tolerated.
