Sowore Threatens Legal Action If Named in Tinubu’s National Honours List |
Activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore has stated that he would sue for defamation if President Bola Tinubu were to include his name in any national honours list, even by mistake.
The former African Action Congress presidential candidate and #RevolutionNow convener made the declaration on Friday through his social media platforms, addressing rumors surrounding potential honorees for the 2025 national awards.
Sowore wrote, “If Tinubu mistakenly includes me in his ‘National Award’ list, I would not only reject and publicly denounce it but also file a lawsuit for defamation.”
A vocal critic of the APC-led administration, Sowore has consistently condemned President Tinubu’s policies and leadership style, accusing the government of corruption, mismanagement, and suppressing fundamental freedoms.
