‘Our School Will Be Proud of Us,’ Tinubu Reunites with Old Chicago University Friend |
President Bola Tinubu on Monday shared a warm reunion with his old friend, Alex Sigman, from Chicago State University during the inauguration of tractors in Abuja.
Tinubu revealed that Sigman, originally from Belarus, was his neighbour while they studied in the United States. He reflected on how neither of them could have imagined the paths their lives would take.
Addressing the crowd as Sigman stood to be recognized, the President described him as a successful businessman now fostering economic ties between Nigeria and Belarus.
“My dear friend, the story must be told,” Tinubu said. “Alex Sigman, how are you? Thank you, and congratulations. Back at Chicago State University, he was a very good neighbour of mine.
“Neither of us could have imagined that I would one day become President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, or that Sigman would become a successful businessman committed to strengthening bilateral ties that can promote economic prosperity for both our nations.
“Thank you, Alex. I believe our university would be proud of us today.”
