| Foundation Urges Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu to Allocate Hajj Slots for Persons With Disabilities |
The Kehinde Oshilaja Foundation has appealed to President Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other Nigerian governors to ensure Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) are included in annual pilgrimage allocations to Hajj and Jerusalem.
The call was made during the Foundation’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration and palliative distribution held at its headquarters in Ebute Meta, Lagos.
Founder Kehinde Oshilaja urged federal and state leaders to reserve at least two pilgrimage slots for people with disabilities, noting that PWDs include Christians, Muslims, and traditionalists who also deserve opportunities for spiritual journeys.
> “We are Nigerians too, and we believe your leadership will ensure that our spiritual rights are upheld through inclusion,” he said.
Oshilaja also used the occasion to highlight the harsh economic realities faced by PWDs, including food insecurity and lack of access to healthcare.
> “We are hungry, we are dying… we appeal to all tiers of government to act with urgency and compassion,” he said, while extending greetings for Eid-el-Kabir and Democracy Day.
