Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on Muslims in Nigeria and around the world to reflect deeply on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In a Sallah message issued on Friday through his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara emphasized the importance of prayer, unity, and compassion during this sacred period, especially as the nation grapples with insecurity and economic hardship.
“On behalf of my wife and family, I encourage our Muslim brothers and sisters to recommit to the values of sacrifice, faith, and obedience,” Fubara said.
He noted that these values are essential to building a peaceful and united society. Without a shared vision and collective action, he warned, meaningful development would remain out of reach.
The governor urged Muslims to show kindness, especially to the less privileged, and to use the occasion to forgive past grievances, promote reconciliation, and strengthen community bonds.
Reflecting on recent political and economic challenges, Fubara praised the patience and resilience of the people. He acknowledged that while some aspirations remain unfulfilled, notable progress has been made despite the odds.
“Efforts are ongoing to stabilize governance and revive the economy,” he assured, promising practical solutions to citizens’ concerns.
Fubara concluded by calling for continued prayers for the peace and progress of Rivers State, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and welfare of all residents.
