In a recent dialogue on peace and security in Nigeria, hosted by the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang emphasized the importance of strengthening the strategic alliance between the United States and Nigeria to tackle the country's security challenges. Mutfwang, who was part of a delegation of Nigerian governors to the US, highlighted the need for collaboration to address the complex security issues facing Nigeria.

The event brought together a delegation of Nigerian governors, including Uba Sani (Kaduna), Abba Yusuf (Kano), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Mohammed Bago (Niger), and the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State. The Vice President of the Africa Centre at the US Institute of Peace encouraged the governors to apply the lessons learned in their respective states.
By fostering a stronger US-Nigeria alliance, Nigeria can leverage international expertise and resources to combat insecurity and promote peace and stability.
