Kano State has mourned the loss of a legendary figure, Sidi Ali, a veteran journalist and former lawmaker, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 86. Throughout his remarkable life, Ali dedicated himself to national service, leaving an indelible mark on the fields of public information and journalism.
Tributes have poured in from across the nation, with human rights activist and former lawmaker, Shehu Sani, eulogizing Ali as a "human library" whose extraordinary memory and knowledge of Nigeria's history were unparalleled. Sani described Ali's passing as a "great loss" and extended his condolences to the family and the people of Kano State.
Ali's distinguished career spanned various institutions, including the Nigerian International Press Centre, the Ministry of Information, and the National Broadcasting Commission.
