NNPCL Attributes Recent Petrol Scarcity to Logistics Issues, Assures Resolution and Sufficient Supply

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has addressed the recent fuel scarcity, attributing it to logistics issues. Following the scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, queues have reappeared at filling stations in Abuja and several states, including Nasarawa, Gombe, and Anambra. The scarcity has led to increased prices and transport fares, causing inconvenience to many commuters.

Contrary to reports of a fuel shortage, the NNPCL clarified in a statement signed by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, that the supply tightness is due to logistics issues, which have since been resolved. The company reassured that petroleum product prices remain unchanged and urged citizens to avoid panic buying, as there is a sufficient supply of products in the country.

The NNPCL's swift response and assurance aim to alleviate concerns and stabilize the situation. By addressing the logistics issues and ensuring a sufficient supply, the company is working to restore normalcy to the fuel market and minimize the impact on consumers. As the situation returns to normal, Nigerians can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that the scarcity was merely a temporary logistical hitch.
