The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the killing of over 15 terrorists in Sambisa Forest, Borno State, following a precision airstrike on September 3, 2025. According to NAF spokesman Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the carefully planned operation targeted a newly identified enclave west of Zuwa.
Ejodame stated that the mission followed credible intelligence reports and confirmatory surveillance, which revealed hideouts accommodating terrorist fighters and their commanders responsible for recent attacks around Bitta.
“The strikes proved devastating, neutralising over 15 terrorists and destroying key structures critical to their operations,” Ejodame said.

Residents in Sokoto Protest Rising Insecurity
While Borno witnessed progress against insurgency, insecurity in Sokoto State sparked widespread protests. Hundreds of men, women, and children from Shagari Local Government Area blocked the Sokoto–Lagos highway, demanding urgent government action against escalating bandit attacks.
