Zamfara Governor Visits Communities Affected by Bandit Attacks, Reaffirms Security Commitment

The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, on Wednesday visited several communities recently hit by bandit attacks, pledging continued government action to restore peace and security while urging residents to offer constant prayers for divine intervention.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), communities across the state have been grappling with increased cases of banditry and kidnapping, which have displaced thousands of women and children, leaving them more vulnerable to hardship.
During his tour of affected areas in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, the governor visited Banga, Kurya Madaro, Maguru, Sakajiki, and Kyambarawa communities.
Speaking in Banga, Governor Lawal expressed condolences to the families of victims who lost their lives in the attacks and assured residents that his administration remains fully committed to tackling Zamfara’s lingering security challenges.
“We are here to sympathise with you and condole with the families of those who lost their lives. When these attacks occurred, I was away from the state but immediately sent a delegation led by my Deputy Governor and Secretary to the State Government to visit you,” Lawal said.
The governor acknowledged that the current security crisis in Zamfara and other parts of Nigeria remains a pressing concern, reiterating his administration’s readiness to collaborate with security agencies and local stakeholders to find lasting solutions.
“Security is essential for the development of any society. Since the inception of our administration, ensuring the safety of our people has been our number one priority,” he added.
While addressing residents in Kurya Madaro, Maguru, and Kyambarawa, the governor encouraged community members to intensify prayers, seeking Allah’s intervention to end the menace of banditry.
“With constant prayers, I believe these challenges will become history,” he said.
In Sakajiki, Governor Lawal announced plans to construct a road linking the community to the main highway. He emphasised that the new road project would not only improve connectivity but also enhance security operations and boost socio-economic activities in the area.
The Zamfara government continues to roll out initiatives aimed at strengthening security, fostering economic stability, and supporting displaced persons as part of its broader development agenda.
