Police Arrest Motorcyclist in Ogun with Three Human Skulls |
The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended a commercial motorcyclist, identified as Kadir Owolabi, for allegedly being in possession of three human skulls.
According to CSP Omolola Odutola, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the suspect was intercepted during a routine stop-and-search operation carried out by operatives of the 71 Police Mobile Force (PMF), Awa Ijebu.
The incident occurred at around 2:00 p.m. on Monday, along the Ijebu Ode–Ibadan Expressway, near the Refugees Camp Junction in Oru Ijebu.
“During the operation, officers stopped Kadir Owolabi who was riding a motorcycle. Upon searching his luggage, we discovered three human skulls,” Odutola revealed in a statement from Abeokuta.
Second Suspect Arrested
Following preliminary investigations, the police arrested another suspect, identified as Jamiu Yisa, 53, at a location behind the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat. Authorities believe Yisa may be connected to the disturbing find.
Both suspects are currently in custody, and further investigations are underway to determine the source of the human remains and the intended purpose.
Commissioner Orders Full Investigation
The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case for a discreet and thorough investigation.
The Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to fighting all forms of criminal activity in the state, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements.
