The Olivet College of Health Technology, Azuba in Nasarawa State has uncovered a shocking case of impersonation, where more than eleven individuals allegedly posed as students and used the college’s official letterheads at medical laboratory facilities. The management is calling on relevant authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly to safeguard the college’s reputation and ensure academic integrity.

Discovery of Fake Students

During a press briefing in Lafia, Dr. Abu Cletus, Proprietor of Olivet College, revealed the alarming findings. He explained that reports surfaced indicating students from the Medical Laboratory Technology department were being redirected to another health college in Nasarawa Eggon LGA.

Further checks showed that:

Individuals not enrolled at Olivet College attended practical sessions at medical laboratories.
They used official college letterheads, department stamps, and HOD signatures to gain unauthorized access.
Some letters even included phone numbers but omitted the official college website, signaling fraud.

Examples of Fraudulent Activities

Dr. Cletus provided specific instances of the misconduct:

Lafia facility: Four non-students used letterheads bearing the college name and P.O. Box, along with the department stamp and HOD signature.
Akwanga facility: Non-students were added to the official student list for practical training using legitimate letterheads.
Keffi facility: Seven non-students joined ten legitimate students, again using official letterheads and departmental stamps.

When questioned, the imposters claimed to belong to a supposed Nasarawa Eggon branch of Olivet College, which does not exist. The college confirmed that it has no distance learning programs and operates solely from the Azuba campus.
