Trump Announces Ceasefire Between Iran and Israel

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that Iran and Israel have agreed to a ceasefire following nearly two weeks of intense hostilities between the two nations.

Taking to his Truth Social platform on Monday evening, Trump declared that both countries had reached a “complete and total ceasefire.”

According to Trump, the agreement is set to take effect at midnight local time. However, as of yet, neither Iran nor Israel has officially confirmed the ceasefire.

Iran, meanwhile, stated that its military operations “to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute—at 4 a.m.”

“Congratulations to everyone! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total ceasefire,” Trump posted.

He explained that the ceasefire would begin “in approximately six hours” once both nations had wrapped up their military activities, marking an official end to the conflict.

Trump noted that “Iran will officially commence the ceasefire,” and that “by the 12th hour, Israel will follow suit.”

He added that “by the 24th hour, an official end to the 12-day war will be saluted by the world.”

The U.S. president commended both nations for their resolve in halting the conflict.

“During each phase of the ceasefire, both sides are expected to remain peaceful and respectful,” he wrote.

Assuming all proceeds as planned, Trump praised both governments for their determination.

“I would like to congratulate both countries—Israel and Iran—for showing the stamina, courage, and intelligence to end what should be called ‘The 12-Day War,’” he said.

Trump emphasized the potential dangers the conflict posed to the broader region.

“This was a war that could have dragged on for years and devastated the entire Middle East—but it didn’t, and it never will!” he stated.

“God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and God bless the world!” Trump concluded.

However, in response, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said:
“As of now, there is NO ‘agreement’ on any ceasefire or halt in military operations.”

He added, “Nonetheless, if the Israeli regime ceases its illegal aggression against the Iranian people by no later than 4 a.m. Tehran time, we have no plans to continue our response beyond that point.”
