Flynas, a Saudi-designated Nigerian Hajj airline, has successfully flown over 61.1% of its assigned pilgrims back to Nigeria within a single week.

This was disclosed by Alhaji Umar Kaila, Managing Director of First Planet Travels and General Sales Agent (GSA) for Flynas in Nigeria, during an interview with journalists in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement released on Sunday by the airline’s information officer, Umma Salama Kyaure, Mr. Kaila stated:

“Flynas has airlifted 8,051 pilgrims back to Nigeria in one week, out of the 13,188 pilgrims allocated to the airline this year.”

He further noted that all pilgrims from Osun and Ogun states were safely flown home on Saturday, while the airlift of pilgrims from Lagos State was completed by Sunday.

The 8,051 pilgrims were transported on 19 flights operated by Flynas.

The airline, which is responsible for pilgrims from Osun, Lagos, Ogun, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, and the Federal Capital Territory, began the return phase of its Hajj operations on Friday, June 13.

Flynas operates from four major airports:

Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos

Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja

Breakdown of the return flights shows that 3,359 pilgrims were flown to Lagos, 1,709 to Sokoto, 2,554 to Birnin Kebbi, and 429 to Abuja.

Mr. Kaila expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, including NAHCON and various state pilgrim boards and commissions, for their support. He assured that the second phase of the airlift would proceed just as smoothly as the first.
