Drama in Kano as Man Climbs Billboard, Threatens Suicide Over TikTok Celebrities |
Panic broke out in Kano State on Monday after a young man climbed a towering billboard near Gadar Lado along Zaria Road and threatened to take his own life.
According to the state police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the man insisted he would only come down if certain TikTok stars he follows showed up at the scene.
“Security operatives are doing everything possible to rescue him alive,” Kiyawa wrote in a Facebook post.
“He clearly stated that unless those TikTok celebrities come, he will jump. May Allah forbid it.”
The incident drew a large crowd as emergency responders and security personnel rushed to the scene to de-escalate the situation and prevent a tragedy.
As of the time of filing this report, rescue efforts were still ongoing.
