The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna North Senatorial District (Zone 1) has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas for a second term in the 2027 general elections.

This endorsement came after a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held in Zaria, Kaduna State, as confirmed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Muazu Meyere.

The meeting gathered notable figures such as former governors, serving and ex-ministers, lawmakers, commissioners, heads of various agencies, and other party leaders at the Federal University of Education auditorium in Zaria. Discussions focused on the achievements of the APC both nationally and within the state, with strong calls for party unity as the 2027 elections approach.

Environment Minister Balarabe Lawal Abbas emphasized that APC’s victory depends on its members’ collective unity. He praised Tinubu for showing commitment to Kaduna State through key projects and backing Abbas for the Speaker’s role. The Minister called on Kaduna residents, especially in Zone 1, to reward Tinubu’s efforts by voting APC across all levels in 2027. He cited the re-award of the Abuja-Kaduna expressway and Zaria-Sokoto road construction projects, both mandated for completion within six months.

In a veiled attack on former Governor Nasir El-Rufai's rumored involvement with the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Abbas warned against following a “blind horse”—likely referring to the SDP’s horse symbol.

Speaker Abbas revealed that over ₦50 billion has been allocated in the 2025 federal budget for development in the eight LGAs of Zone 1, with additional funds for institutions like ABU Zaria and Kaduna State University. He also announced upcoming distribution of farming inputs and support for religious pilgrimages.

Abbas urged consistent grassroots meetings and encouraged APC leaders to use their positions for collective benefit, not personal interests.

Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi and ex-Governor Ramalan Yero stressed APC’s leadership superiority and called for aggressive grassroots mobilization. Dr. Meyere highlighted Zone 1's strategic advantage due to its influential leaders and urged full party loyalty.

APC North-West Vice Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Datti Babawo, praised Tinubu, Sani, and Abbas for attracting major federal projects and diffusing regional political tensions. He also announced upcoming electronic membership registration for the party nationwide.

The meeting ended with a unanimous endorsement of Tinubu, Sani, and Abbas as the APC’s sole candidates for their respective offices in 2027.
