Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has extended heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing four prominent indigenes of Katsina to key positions in the federal government.


Describing the development as a moment of great pride for the state, Governor Radda noted that the appointments affirm the quality of leadership Katsina continues to offer the nation.


The newly appointed officials are:

  • Ibrahim Shehu Shema, former governor of Katsina State, now Chairman of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA)
  • Kabir Abdullahi Barkiya, appointed Chairman of the Nigerian Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA)
  • Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed, named Executive Director (Finance & Administration) of the Nigeria–São Tomé and Príncipe Joint Development Authority (NSTPJDA)
  • Barr. Sama’ila Audu, appointed Executive Director, Administration at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF)

Governor Radda praised Shema’s appointment to the FCDA, calling it a well-deserved recognition of his vast experience in governance and the legal profession.


Speaking on Barkiya’s new role at NALDA, the governor highlighted his engineering background and policy expertise, emphasizing his readiness to drive sustainable agricultural reforms.


On the NSTPJDA appointment, Radda underscored the strategic importance of the Gulf of Guinea and expressed confidence in Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed’s capacity to promote transparency and effective resource management.


For Barr. Sama’ila Audu’s role at the NSITF, Radda noted that his leadership will contribute to a more responsive and accountable agency, ultimately benefiting Nigerian workers nationwide.


“These appointments are not just personal achievements but a reflection of the high-caliber individuals Katsina continues to produce for national service,” Governor Radda stated.


He concluded by congratulating the appointees on behalf of the government and people of Katsina State, wishing them success as they take on their new responsibilities.
