Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his two-year anniversary in office, calling for national unity and patience as the administration continues implementing key reforms.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari described the two-year mark as both a milestone and a reminder of the long and evolving nature of leadership. He encouraged Nigerians to rally behind the Tinubu-led administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as they work to address the country's pressing challenges.
“As the party and government mark this moment, the nation must remember that leadership is a journey, not a destination,” Buhari said.
The former president acknowledged that while Tinubu’s reform agenda is essential, its results will unfold gradually over time, not instantaneously. He urged the public to exercise patience and remain committed to the broader national interest.
“Reforms take time to bear fruit. We must not allow short-term discomfort or political distractions to derail the process,” Buhari warned.
