Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has issued a strong condemnation of the abduction of 20 medical students and a house officer in the state. The students were traveling to Enugu for a medical conference when they were ambushed and kidnapped in Otukpo on Thursday.
Governor Alia has directed security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure the safe and immediate release of the hostages. He warned criminal elements operating within the state to desist from such acts or face the full wrath of the law.
The governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to stamping out criminality in Benue and creating a safe environment for all residents.
