The Evoeme Emekalam family issued a statement expressing their thanks to fans, friends, and colleagues for their support and asked for privacy during their mourning period.
"To all friends, fans, and colleagues, the family of the esteemed actress, Elizabeth Lizzy 'Ovularia' Evoeme, wishes to inform the public and everyone who admired her and her performances in 'The New Masquerade' about her demise.
"Elizabeth 'Ovularia' Evoeme was deeply cherished and will be profoundly missed by both her family and her admirers.
"We are grateful for everyone's support and for honoring our need for privacy at this sorrowful time. May God bless you all, and may our beloved Elizabeth 'Ovularia' Evoeme rest in eternal peace."
Justina Ngozi Evoeme, Ovularia's daughter residing in London, referred to her mother's death as distressing and unexpected, saying, "I'm trying to come to terms with what has occurred."
This event occurs four and a half years after the false rumor of Ovularia's death on November 5, 2019. At that time, a tweet by Churchill Ebhodaghe led to false speculations about her demise, which she later refuted.
In response to the 2019 rumors, Ovularia stated that she was not gravely ill and criticized the originators of the false news, suggesting they should be reprimanded.
Chika Okpala, recognized for his portrayal of Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwaogbe in 'The New Masquerade', also dispelled the rumors at the time, confirming Ovularia's good health.
