Tinubu Replaces NSIPA CEO Halima Shehu with Egbuwalo Amid Fraud Allegations

President Bola Tinubu has removed Halima Shehu from her position as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) over accusations of financial misconduct.

The president named Akindele Egbuwalo, who currently leads the national N-Power programme, as the acting CEO of NSIPA until the investigations are completed, Channels reported.

A high-ranking official in the presidency told TheCable that Shehu was escorted out of her office by Department of State Services (DSS) agents on Tuesday morning.

The senate had confirmed Shehu's appointment as NSIPA CEO on October 18, 2023.

Shehu previously served as the national coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme under the federal ministry of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development from 2017 to 2022.
